As always, we want to thank you for supporting 3G and our efforts around the world! Hundreds of children and adults are being positively impacted every day because of your generosity and prayers.
In this shorter version of our newsletter, “In the Loop”, we will focus on our end-of-year outreach and how you can help us reach even more in the last few weeks of 2017. Stay tuned for our full newsletter coming out shortly, which will detail all that we have accomplished together.
Hurricane Outreach
As you will remember, the hurricanes earlier this year in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean caused enormous damage and interrupted the lives of millions, many of whom were our friends and partners. As a result, 3G was able to provide relief to many in the way of food, water, electricity, clothing, transportation and even financial assistance along the Gulf Coast and in Latin America. However, there is still much to do. Texans are still rebuilding, Puerto Rico is trying to come back on line, the Dominican Republic was severely hit, and many are not aware that there was a major tropical storm that impacted Honduras, causing major damage with many lives lost.
How 3G is helping
Our organization has partners in each of these affected areas, so along with our regular support and prayers we want to do something special for the children affected by these catastrophes. 3G has been making bags and other school supplies for the past year and donating them to children in need, but we want to take it up a notch. We have put in an order for backpacks to be made and distributed in each of the areas outlined above. They are black, full-sized packs, bearing our logo. They are strong and will serve the child well for years to come, as well as bring hope that we care about their future and their well-being.
We have taken a leap of faith and placed an order for one thousand packs, but we want to send many more. In many cases, the kids who will receive these packs have lost almost everything, and having a shiny new backpack to carry with them when they can return to school will inevitably boost their spirits. We want to send out two thousand backpacks this Christmas season, help us reach that goal! For $15, we can make, pack, ship and deliver each pack to a child in need.
